Matter

The TEXEL 2024 badge is a commemorative badge of the military parachuting course leading to the award of the Dutch military parachuting certificate.

Lasting one week and awarded after 5 automatic opening jumps, this course took place on the Dutch island of Texel in the summer of 2024.

Description

Surrounded by the inscription TEXEL and the GPS coordinates of the island, the outer edges are also enriched with a French flag recalling the origin of the trainees. At the bottom, the representation of the insignia of the Dutch parachutist brevet. The inscription PPIR designates the Parachutist Reserve Intervention Platoon, the trainees of the 2024 edition being for the most part operational reservists of the National Gendarmerie. In its center, the representation of a parachutist landing on the beach of the island, after jumping from a Cessna 208, plane of the Paracentrum (parachuting center) of Texel.
